Missions

Couts UMC has a long history of loving and serving our neighbors in Weatherford, Parker County, and around the world.  We strongly believe in investing in and partnering with others in these endeavors for the strongest and longest-lasting impact.  Some of our regular missions partners include:

Center of Hope

We provide and serve lunch on 1-2 weekdays every quarter at the Center of Hope.  Ways to get involved include helping provide the meal through monetary or food donations (menu is set and communicated several weeks in advance), being present to serve on a weekday (sign-ups available several weeks in advance).  We also do an annual event for the Center of Hope's Christmas event where we partner with Couts Christian Academy (CCA) to create a Christmas gift for families.

Mobile Food Pantry

Adults and youth serve at the Mobile Food Pantry at South Main Church of Christ in Weatherford several times throughout the year.  This takes place on the third Saturday from 8am until 11am.

Couts Christian Academy

Couts Christian Academy (CCA) is a ministry of Couts United Methodist Church, dedicated to quality care and education

in a Christ-centered environment.  Founded in 2004 with a vision of growth and providing a quality education for children, CCA currently serves children ages 18 months through Kindergarten and their families.

Holland Lake Worship,
Bible Study, Christmas and

Christmas in July

In addition to Weekly Worship and  Bible Studies twice a week, we provide items, donated by our congregation, in the form of a "free store" from which residents at Holland Lake Rehabilitation and Wellness Center can "shop" for loved ones.

United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR)

We partner with this United Methodist organization that provides relief to those facing the aftermath of disasters.  100% of financial gifts designated to UMCOR go directly to disaster relief as administrative costs are covered through our United Methodist Connection.

Carter Blood Center
Blood Drives

Once a quarter, Couts UMC sponsors a blood drive through Carter Blood Center.  It is always held on Sunday, in the Fellowship Hall, from 8am - until 11:45 am.   Mary Ann Rooney is the coordinator for this ministry.
