Couts UMC and the Horizon Texas Conference takes our responsibility to care for children, youth, and vulnerable adults very seriously.  Ministry Safe is a system of policies and procedures intended to facilitate a safe and nurturing environment in which children, youth, and vulnerable adults can grow in relationship with Jesus Christ.  

Requirements for Volunteers and Staff that work with Children, Youth, and Vulnerable Adults

In order to become a staff member or volunteer at Couts, there is a training process that an individual must complete:

 

  • Must attend the church for at least 6 months before
          serving in any area

    Must sign a consent for background and reference 
        checks 
    Must complete the MinistrySafe Sexual Abuse 
        Awareness Training
    Must read read and sign the church safety                          procedures / policies for children and youth
