Cindy Hott has been a staff member of some kind at Couts for approximately 50 years. In the 70's she and Butch, her husband, joined the church and she quickly became involved with Youth and the Children's Choir ministries. In a few years her job title was Director of Program Ministries - that included being responsible for Sunday School, the Council on Ministries (at that time the program ministry of the church), Youth, Youth Choir, Children's Choir and Handbell Choirs. Eventually, in 1987, she made a shift and became the full time Minister of Music at Couts directing the Chancel Choir, the Praise Band, the Youth Choir, the Children's Choir, and from 5-7 Handbell Choirs. For ten of those years she either Directed or Assisted in Directing Broadway Musicals at the church each year - a rotation of "Jesus Christ Superstar", "Godspell", "Joseph and the Amazing, Technicolor Dreamcoat" and "A Touch of the Child". There were many choir tours, ski trips and mission trips along the way. In 2006 the Administrative Assistant Job was open at the church. After 30 years of directing the Children and Youth Choirs, she handed that off to someone else and became the Administrative Assistant and continued being the Worship Leader for another 7 years. She continues now as the Administrative Assistant for Couts and helps out in other areas when needed. Butch and Cindy have one daughter, Beje, and two grandchildren, Xavier and Karisma. God is so good!
